Pattern - Giant Wool Cat Basket kitty bed Knitting Pattern - Printed A5

This is my original pattern for the Giant Wool cat basket. Printed on A5 size thick paper and delivered in a flat envelope.

You will need just 1kg of arm knitting yarn or jumbo yarn, and 25mm / US size 50 circular needles, at least 32 inches long.

It is worked in the round using the Magic Loop method. This is where you can use circular needles to knit even the smallest circumference, so you don’t need to use double pins. There are several good tutorials on YouTube including this one:

Arm knitting yarn usually states a needle size of 30-40mm, however for the cat basket we want a firm dense knit so we use 25mm needles.

My pattern gives 2 sizes, and 2 different methods, bottom up or top down.

Sizes are:
Small = diameter 28 cm / 11 inches
Large = diameter 38 cm / 15 inches.
Sizes are approximate and depend on the yarn and your tension

Cats seem to love the scent of wool, so giant wool or merino works great. If you opt for acrylic or vegan yarn, there are even more colours to choose from and you can always encourage your cat with some catnip spray.
